How do I remedy my rotten class time from this morning? I make caramel apples!

And my goddess, they're fabulous!

Take some Granny Smith apples, a bag of caramels, and some popsicle sticks. Melt caramel in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of water, stir often! When melty, dip and cover apples, then place on plate and cool in fridge for an hour. Enjoy!

Maquette Commissions!

Lunara by Growly
Well, thanks to my newly realised sculpting talents, you can have your very own maquette sculpture of your fursona or character!

You too can have one that looks as good as this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2795375

All will be made of high quality Super Sculpey and painted with fine acrylics. Will have a simple but sturdy wood base.

I will only be taking a maximum of three commissions for these at a time. If anyone comes in after the slots are full, I will make a waiting list, should the need arise.

Price will be based on a quote basis, depending on the cost of materials used and time spent, but should stay within a $50-$200 range. Feel free to send me a description of your character, and I'll happily give you an estimate. Once payment's been received, I'll start on your maquette.

Private message me if you're interested! First three have dibs!

Happy Earth Day!

  • Apr. 22nd, 2009 at 5:37 PM
Warm Hugs!
Today is the day we give thanks to Mother Earth for nurturing us, sheltering us, and more than anything, for putting up with our horrible, destructive manners.

It is this which is why we should spend today giving thanks to her by going as green as possible. Recycle, plant a tree, buy organic and local, promote sustainability.

In other words, today and every day.. be good to your Mother.

On March 28th, at 8:30 PM your local time, you have an opportunity to make a statement about climate change. What started as a demonstration in Sydney, Australia caught the attention of the world.

It is now a global, worldwide movement. As you will see in the video I've embedded, Earth Hour, sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund, is a global effort to take a stand against excessive energy usage by turning all our lights off for one hour. No matter where you are, or what you're doing, you too can join and take part.

Save the date: March 28th, 8:30 PM local time. Join the movement. Help our Earth rest for one hour.

For the past few months, I have been thrilled to pieces that I've been making such great grades in my Geometry test. Today, that thrill has been crushed.

I made a 50% on my final test.

How did I do it? Well, between not having time to study last night (I was at work until midnight) and finding other problems on it that I didn't prepare for, I seriously took a dive. As I called my boyfriend about it, I was in tears. I straightened myself out and went to talk to my teacher about any chances to bring my grade up. He was sad about it too, since he saw my previous grades. I asked if I could redo my test, but no.. he'd then have to give that chance to everyone else that wanted to do so, which is understandable. Now, my grade won't be too bad, I'll still pass probably, but it's not near as high as I hoped it would be, had I done as good on this test as I did on the last two.

He said I can redo my project that was turned in Monday. I know the current version won't fare well, so I will take him up on it. He said I can turn it in the first week of next quarter (Jan. 12th). I realised what went wrong with it, and how to fix it. So, here's hoping I can pull a miracle.

Art Update..

  • Oct. 31st, 2008 at 11:49 AM
Oops..
Okay, now I know I haven't loaded any new stuff to FA in yonks.. due to my newly hectic schedule. However, I assure you all, I am still drawing pics. In fact, I have some gift and surprise stuff for a certain few, including another gift for the awesome Roxikat (will be NSFW). I also need to finish up my commishes for [info]brodycatsmouth. >_<

I'm sorry it's been a while, but new art is on the way, promise!

School Daze..

Bored..
School on a whole has been terrific, except of course, Geometry. Math and I just don't mix. I manage the homework, but then the teacher (I like him besides this) will drop a quiz on us at random. Ugh. I got bad marks on my first one. Hope it's the last like that.

My other two classes are great, 2-D Design and Intro to Design Applications (Adobe Apps. like Illustrator).

So yeah.. so far all is okay, just need to get reacquainted with.. ugh.. math.

Hell yeah!

  • Oct. 9th, 2008 at 7:34 PM
Woot!
While I was working yesterday, I was able to solve all my Geometry class supply problems. I got some amazing bargains!

Compass with pencil: $0.99
Protractor: $1.99
Scientific Calculator ( works just as good as name brands like Texas Instruments): $5.50

I did good! *happy dance*

In other news, I'll be looking for a WiFi spot other than the school, as it seems my access is limited (I can't connect to my Mac email or AIM). Damn.

I have a busy next week.. between work and classes, I'll be blinkered!

What a Send-Off!

  • Oct. 1st, 2008 at 9:41 PM
Aww, bless!
The supermarket I've worked for the past two years, Publix, had me totally choked up on my last day working there today. An hour into my shift, I was told to go into the conference room. What I saw was overwhelmingly wonderful. An 8 inch round cake from the bakery, "Good Luck Ruth" frosted on the top. A reusable bag full of goodies and balloons tied down by a king-sized Snickers bar. What really got me choked up was the card I received from my collegues. These people came to be my friends, and all of them wrote well wishes in it.

Such a beautiful thing they did.. I feel so loved. I'll keep in touch with them through postcards.

Phew..

Par-tay!
I finally have a confirmed address, and it seems I might have a good home for my birdie too.

I still need to clean my flat, as well as pack away my kitchen and bathroom stuff. It's so surreal to see this place so naked again.. wow.

Off to Atlanta on the 2nd!

LMFAO

  • Sep. 24th, 2008 at 8:48 PM
LMAO!

How evil are you?

I can believe it, and hopefully I don't shame my more "evil" friends. :-p

In other news, my platelets donation today was incomplete due to technical difficulties. *pouts* Oh well, I tried.

I just wanna nap...

  • Sep. 19th, 2008 at 3:24 PM
WTF!?
Good News: Work has been giving me much needed hours the past two weeks, and college is on the horizon!

Bad News: I've been a nervous wreck, actually having to write a list of the things to do before school starts.. and there's quite a bit.

And I'm completely blinkered. *keels* Because of said hours, most of them having me come to work in the morning (I am NOT a morning person), I will be mewling for a chance to sleep! I can't wait until this Tuesday; a day off!

Ahh...

The weather outside today is marvelous; overcast, no sun, and it finally feels like Autumn! The air is dry, cool and crisp.

*murrs* I love Autumn.

We can only pray it stays for the next several months.

I have an Announcement..

  • Sep. 6th, 2008 at 5:30 PM
Warm Hugs!
I have been officially accepted into the Art Institute of Atlanta, and will start classes October 6th!

I was at the campus yesterday and today with my sister, staying at a lovely Hilton hotel. I got everything sorted, including my class schedule for this fall. I also have six or seven credits from my last college transferred, so I don't have to take those classes!

Here's to a new routine, a new environment, and the future.

Bored..

  • Aug. 28th, 2008 at 8:50 PM
Bored..
Both my boyfriend Guf and my buddy [info]brodycatsmouth are attending conventions at the moment, Guf's at Dragon*Con and Brody's at MFM.

Also, my past college's transcripts have *finally* arrived at the Art Institute, after a month, so now I have to nervously wait and see if they've accepted me.

Ugh.. what to do? *lays head on table, grumbling*

I'll try to keep busy with Brody's commission, but I might just make some gift art while I'm at it too. And I won't say who, just have to see. ;)

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBDC - The Illusionist

Nature, Background, Detail, and Color

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that is affected by the details of life. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are highly focused on specific goals or tasks and find meaning in life by pursuing those goals. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.
